  1. As a Barcelona fan , I will always be sad for not giving our HERO and SON the send off he deserved. As a Barcelona fan I am heart broken he could not return either. But also as a Barcelona fan I want the best for him. This is the best for him. MLS is good place to hang up the joursey. Much better than Oil league

  2. Messi did the right thing for his Family and most importantly didn't trust these Barca snakes. Very humble and intelligent of him to not get into the ego of fame and money etc. He can always come back to Europe after maybe a season or 2 in America if he wants to, he's better than most at his age.

  3. R9onaldo left Barcelona in 1997 because they screwed him over financially. Barcelona have a habit of not being transparent. Messi made the right decision, there is no point to going back. Miami is massively Latin and Messi will be happier there. I personally hate Paris and French arrogance.

  4. As a Barce fan we love Messi for every thing he has done for the club . We the fans love him . We respect his dicisions and its the best choice for him

  5. The shame was when Messi left Barca in the first place. Would have loved to have seen him play his entire career in that shirt. Returning? Probably not the best thing for him or the club. As the old novel says- "You can not go home again". The club is not the same and neither is he.

  6. Many thanks to the pundits at ESPNfc for their based and neutral perspective. It is a breath of fresh air as opposed the narratives at the beginning of last season. Apart from that, just remember this, Javier Tebas made it impossible for Messi to leave under Bartomeu and under Laporta, impossible ro comeback. Guess which president supported the super league.

  7. laporta never wanted messi back. he knows he would have harmed the team. bye bye . barca is bigger than messi . now we have a chance to win the champions leauge , with messi it is not possible.

  8. Barcelona should be relieved he went to Inter Miami.

Going to MLS means you've decided you don;t really want to compete anymore just play pressure free football and enjoy yourself, which is fine for Messi after all he has achieved .

However Barca need players who are hungry to win and hungry to prove themselves.Bringing in Messi and probably having to change the setup of the team to accommodate him would be a backward step for Barcelona, they've dodged a bullet by him not deciding to join them.

  9. Sorry I work for the biggest bank in the world Barca are trying to refinance again let a lone afford Messi,Saudi Arabia did offer him 500 million euros a year,he wanted to go to Miami.Good news is Saudi Arabia want to buy Barca, whatever the cost.

  10. He has three kids and a wife. Everyone knows women rights in saudi. LOL. Living in america > living in saudi arabia. He is also closer to argentina and his kids will live in first world country and get the best facilities available.

  11. I’m glad he didn’t trust them not to make the same mistake twice. It’s a good decision imo. It was a nice dream but what is meant to be is meant to be. Also I’m American so having him here will be exciting. Shaka is right. He shouldn’t have to wait.

Also what fun to have Beckham and Messi together working with the same team.
