  1. Everybody should get fired, from top to bottom, no exception.
Right now is friends hiring friends.
Greg's time should be over after 4plus years period regardless of his world cup
performance, USA went as far as expected with the talent he had available.
The Reyna vendetta should not weigh in the ultimate decision.
Good luck finding a new coach.

  2. This is unreal. From what I've heard, the Reyna family and the Berhalter family were friends for a long time, long after the incident of 1991. So, now Mrs Reyna speaks only because of what happened to her son. So, I say, "Oh, why didn't you speak before?" And another thing. It seems that was the only incident between the Berhalters. So, why can't anybody give credit to him for improving his behaviour as a man? Redemption is something accepted in society, or in't it? If every time you hire a coach, and then you don't like him, and then find something objectionable in his past, of which he' has cured, but you don't accept that, then, we are not being fair.

  3. This whole situation is like parents at a kids soccer game getting in the face of the amateur coach. Except the coach (who is acting like an amateur) has been in the game professionally his entire working life and the kid in question is an adult professional who plays at an elite level. It's all a bit silly.

  4. it's interesting how you see the English analysts demonstrate so much solidarity with ex- teammates, and even controversy-courting analysts in other sports like Charles Barkley and Shaq who don't hold their tongues in evaluating star players' output stop well short of peers' hold on a job

  5. No soccer player’s family should influence US soccer when their son didn’t even deliver. He’s no Messi and yet US media treating him like he is. Both Gio Reyna’s parents and Berhalter should be removed & Gio Reyna needs to stop whining and bring it on the field.

  6. This whole situation reminds me of the CR7/Ten Hag situation. We must remember… THE TEAM IS BIGGER THAN ANY PLAYER. USMNT does not need Gio.

    USMNT Under Berthalter:
Gold Cup Runner Up x 1
    Gold Cup Champions x 1
    Nation Leagues Champions x 1
    World Cup Rd of 16.

    USMNT Before Berthalter:
    Confederation Cup – Not qualified
    Copa America – 4th Place
Gold Cup – 4th place and Champions
World Cup – Did not qualify

Unless Klinsmann is coming back, don't hold your breathe for any promising coach candidates.

  7. As a Brit and long time US resident and citizen, I don’t see a top level European coach coming to the US. They would have to be willing to relocate their family and inherit some potential issues. Plus, if anything were to happen, it would likely be after the current season is over. That’s when most managerial changes occur.

  8. Instead of being principled Herc Gomez is cucking to corporate pressure on this. Victimhood mentality and cancel culture is such a problem. Yes Berhalter made a mistake in 1991 and in the world cup but that shouldn't matter right now. The guy has changed and deserves a chance. If you're gonna fire him then also fire Claudio Reyna from his position. Danielle Reyna should also face some consequences. Gio should be allowed to return to the team as long as he had nothing to do with this

  9. This fiasco stems from the fact that Gio Reyna is a spoiled prima donna. He apparently didn’t prepare or train as he should have to earn playing time at the World Cup. The coach held him accountable for his actions, so he sulked like the spoiled brat that he appears to be. Maybe this is the first time a coach dared to hold him accountable to the standard expected of the rest of the players. Clearly, neither he nor his Mommy could accept that. Pathetic. This is the sort of sad behaviour you see at the U12 level. Just a reminder….this is the “men’s” national team. Do the other players’ mommies go after the coach when they don’t get enough playing time?

  10. It’s been confirmed that Zidane rejected an offer of taking on the USMNT team. It just proves that the whole of USMNT and Berhalter have made the whole association rot from the top down. And I don’t think you’ll fix it before 2026. What a ruined opportunity!

  11. Greg's goals of qualifying for the WC and going to the knockout rounds is about as weak as it gets. It's something the US has done three times previously. Greg was not brave enough to set a higher goal (quarters or semis) because he knew he could never achieve it.

  12. Berhalter barely got the team to qualified on goal diff, made a mess with the Reynas which he started the chain of events by benching his most talented player, and lost a tactical battle against Netherlands.

He was an unqualified hire that was only hired out of nepotism, and he has shown us why he should have never been hired. Plus the team will never trust him again.

  13. Hercules Gomez is a nut job. He bags on the US National Team and MLS every chance he gets. He LOVES Mexico. He LOVES Liga MX. Gomez was nothing more than a bit player for the US and a journeyman during his pro career. What makes this guy a soccer "expert"? He never has anything interesting to say. It's always down with the US and up with Mexico.

  14. The nepotism is rediculas and sad. Get both them the F out. USA soccer will never get better unless you make it a true meritocracy.

  15. Let’s stop acting like the players that are on the team right now are the only players in the entire USA. A country of 300 million. We have some good players that are being overlooked. Probably hundreds.

  16. US Soccer need to hire a devout 18 year old tee-total coach who identifies as female currently training to be a midwife (until such time as a player's parent says she once slapped a baby)

  17. Is Berhalters fault for not playing the kid. Hands down,is the best player that we have. How are you going to bench our second best option and you’re gonna play Jordan Morris over Reyna? Thats some Mediocre coaching from Berhalter right there. Poor management. Although I don’t condone what Reynas mom did I understand why she did it.

  18. Thats why its hilarious when in USA sports someone wins the championship and they say "we are world champions" lol are you? the FIFA world cup is a rare ocurrance and so hard to win because it happens every 4 years where a lot of things have to be aligned for a team to win, in the NBA if you put together a good team and try 3 years in a row you will probably win one of the 3. The hard thing about wining a FIFA world cup is that all your best players have to be in a high level at the same time, something easier to achieve if you compete every year but once every 4 years its a different story, thats why when you win the FIFA world cup you can really call yourself world champion.

  19. Some FRIENDS we KEEP. The Reyna’s had this info for 30yrs, then WEAPONIZED the INFO. Talk about being STABBED in the back. Belhalter didn’t cover himself in glory by further discussing GIO REYNA after the WORLD Cup. How thus GIO REYNA go back to the group of men who will be suspicious of him and his actions?
