  1. Overall, the french squad was performant and competitive. However, let's acknowledge that Llioris would have saved the goal and such salvage could have already placed him among the best goalkeepers. Pavard also should keep in mind that the goal was marked from his side…

  2. People talk about the injured:
Benzema, Nkunku, Kante, Pogba, L. Hernandez, Kimpembe, Varane, Maignan.

Talking about world class French players who didn’t even play, but what’s even more impressive is that, not only do we have 30 more players in the pre-selected list of potential qualified players for the WC, but if I remember correctly, 27 players in the 2018 competition had the french nationality (and were born, raised and trained in France) and were playing for other countries (Spain, Portugal, Marocco, Senegal, etc), their other nationality/country or their parents’.

Most of these young 70+ players came from immigrants parents or grandparents. Some growing in poor Parisian suburbs.

We can feel proud and lucky to have all this training infrastructure, this diversity, and a way to give a chance to these young folks to make it, in a world that often does not favor them.
Takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get there 👏🏻

  3. This goes to show you that top teams get over praised. France beats Australia and everyone thinks they have a very good chance to win the world cup. Saudi Arabia beats Argentina and people don't think they are good enough to win this world cup. This Saudi Arabia team is better than all these so called favourites brazil, France, Argentina and every other European giant. As for Argentina unfortunately I don't think they can handle pressure very well so it's possible they could get knocked out of the group and if by some miracle they make it to the round of 16, they'll get knocked out in the round of 16. Both brazil and Argentina are going to experience shocks by underdogs and non favourites
