  1. The Nottingham game was the last straw, he had to win it or at the very least get a draw. The funny part is Leeds actually played better and should have won, but then again that's probably why they sacked him, he couldn't get the team to play up to their standards.

  2. He seemed like a decent bloke. Too bad that he had to be sacked as Leeds haven't been clinical enough under his watch. I wish him well and hope the new manager can get Leeds the required points to stay up.

    Sincerely,

    – A non-Leeds fan

  3. đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™‚ïž this is gonna mess up the USMNT chances to be the next spain of 08-12 smh đŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™‚ïž Leeds we’re gonna be the new Barca

  4. I can understand why they sacked him, but some of these clubs, once they get into the habit of sacking managers it just keeps on happening. Not that it's the case with Leeds in particular, but it's not a great strategy and it makes managers feel less safe in their jobs to do structural lasting changes.

  5. Leeds fan here. I think he is a nice guy but tbh his words are a lot better than his team's performance. I also think the transfer window did not help him. Whats the point of bringing in mckennie and rutter who is not a goal scorer when what this team needs is a proper striker. We play go football, our xg is better than our opponents but we draw or lose. Think that just means we need a better striker. Worst of all, he keeps saying the performance is good but the results are not there. Thats his job right? If we were not to do it now, any later and it will be too late

  6. They were never going to beat Forest with Navas in the goal for Forest. They just needed to hold on for 0-0 draw, but they couldn’t keep the ball out in the first quarter of an hour. The focus should have been to defend for the first 60 minutes.

  7. With a squad consisting mostly of championship players and results going south, I would say it's kind of harsh Marsh got the boot since Leeds aren't that bad after beating Liverpool earlier. At the same time the only reason Leeds survived last season because their rivals who got relegated were absolutely dreadful.

  8. Imagine mourinho went to city, if guardiola dismissed himself for the scandal of the owners. I’ma Man U fan so I want mufc on the up but I still like the competition derby’s up and the surprise of underdogs shout-out Newcastle f’m for the cup but I like the competition lad

  9. I get that you guys will want to defend Marsch because he's a high profile American coach, but he has been a complete disaster. You could argue that he did well to keep us in the league last season, but there wasn't a big improvement in performances, it was incredibly tight and required several very late goals.

To anyone with half a brain who's watched our games this season, this should've happened before the World Cup. Clearly a really nice guy, but he needs to go away and re-think how he views the game. Red Bull football works at Salzburg where they have vastly superior players, but against high-level opposition in the PL, it's a non-starter.

Absolutely hopeless in possession, players not having any idea what they're supposed to be doing, no co-ordination in build-up. Never any runners coming from midfield, forward players isolated and left to try and figure things out for themselves. We created chances in certain games, but it always felt like they were created in spite of the system rather than because of it.

Never looked remotely capable of breaking down a well-organised opposition, not to mention wide open on the counter and the same vulnerability exploited over and over again leaving space out wide and getting outnumbered on the overlap.

He never took responsibility or offered any insight post-game into what had gone wrong, beyond his cliches about "clarity" or being "brave".

So many of the goals we conceded showed a lack of organisation and detail, opposing players standing with no defender within 10 yards of them, unmarked at set pieces – that is the coach's job.

Bielsa had an injury-ravaged squad, most of whom had played for him in the Championship, and was sacked with us two points above the bottom three – a year on, with all the money we've spent, a full preseason, the World Cup break, all the talk about "being the team I know they can be", and we're worse of than we were 11months ago – basically in the bottom three.

Heard from one person very much inside the club that he's a great guy, but he's been completely found out as a coach. All branding, no substance.

…and no, it's nothing to do with him being American – he's just not a very good coach.

  10. He hasn’t won a match since November 5 and people are wondering why he was sacked haha. 11 points from 51 available. No wins in 7. That second half against forest was pathetic. No shots on target against a team who have conceded more second half goals than any team in the league

  11. Jesse Marsch isn’t good enough to manage in a top European league it’s that simple. Tactically inept and clueless. Failed in Germany and failed in England. Back to America and take an easy job over there where nobody cares what you do

  12. I think it is insane how fast PL coaches are fired, if Leeds stayed up then you would have real momentum with a few straight years of top flight action and team cohesion. Now you bring in someone else who uses the players he didn't choose to buy and if they stay up they will spend another 100mn in the summer to keep him happy. That is just bad business all around. The devil know is better than the one you don't.
