  1. the fact Salloi and Esteves ended up with the same suspension from MLS is horrendous. Salloi should be done for 3-5 games MINIMUM. Esteves is just defending his teammate, Salloi attacked an opposing player unprovoked outside of normal play in no attempt to win the ball (he was taking a free kick!). Unacceptable.

  2. 1. correct second yellow.
    2. all of these are straight reds. stupidity at its finest from the players.
    3. stonewall penalty. still wondering how this wasnt given.
    4. honestly i dont think thats over the line but whatever. var cant get involved here.
    5. for me this is a penalty. i dont think its soft at all. push in the back for me.
    6. not a pen for me. for me its just a coming together.
    7. for me, i think its a pen. he kicks the players foot into the ball imo.
    8. one of the worst dives ive seen all season lol.
    9. easy handball. good call ref. you could also argue a red card since i think this may be going in.
    10. smh lol. easy handball.

  3. This has been typical Peter Vermes coached soccer in MLS for season after season after season. WHEN the amount of dissent from the head coach comes as often and as boldly… by word AND action as Vermes displays is EVERY single match… he amps up the supporters… he amps up his players and NONE of it is in a positive or helpful manner to anyone. He is the epitome of what is not good for the game. I hope the league throws the kitchen sink at SKC. Fine the club a million dollars. Get the club ownership to understand that this level of dissent towards the officials can not be tolerated from coaches and players. It is absolutely despicable and a travesty for this league.

  4. Regarding ATX no call… If the contact occurs with Keller’s left foot when he lunges in, then it’s a foul. But instead, Keller misses both ball and player. At that moment, the LAFC player loses the ball by himself. Then proceeds to run into Keller’s right trailing foot. Because the LAFC player had already lost the ball and then spins into Keller’s back foot, and because Keller never touches him with initial left foot lunge, the ensuing contact is incidental and not a penalty. That said, I expected Davies and Wiebe to both take the side of LAFC: Davies because he was a striker (fair); Wiebe because he is still attempting to save face from his unrelenting insistence that Austin FC is not top team (clearly they are). Ok that’s my rant.

  5. I remember watching that Espinoza PK in the Chicago game and, as a neutral, thinking “No way is that ever a PK, the Fire got hosed on that one.” Looked all along like he went in shoulder-to-shoulder to compete for the ball. How else do you expect a defender to challenge there?

  6. Greeting Sir,
I'm an upcoming referee and will love to have a guidance in my career. Please inside replay I love your teaching and will love to be part of your refereeing team.

    Thanks

    Yours sincerely

  7. SKC: Rubio should have gotten a yellow in the middle of the fracas, no problems with the red cards.
LA: absolutely blown call on that penalty — if it's a foul anywhere in the field, it should be a penalty when it happens in the box.

  8. All 4 reds in SKCvCOL were correct.

That said, the last 3 never should have happened. We can argue if Barrios got the ball all we want, but Tzionis keeps his footing and is tracking the ball when the follow through takes him down. If Barrios doesn't get the ball, it's a foul and yellow. If Barrios gets the ball, he still trips Tzionis who is in better position to play the ball and it's a foul. If Fisher correctly calls that foul, nothing else boils over and all 3 players stay on the field.

What's sad is 3 guys will be suspended and PRO and MLS never suspend referees for egregious errors.

  9. Very interesting video this week. 1. Slonina took down a defenseless player. That’s a foul and a PK. Not sure what these two are smoking. Literally a minute or 2 earlier in the video they said that you don’t have to have possession of the ball to qualify for a PK. This is definitely one of those cases. Try to be consistent guys. I mean the player could have kept playing but solina takes him out.
    2. I was one of those saying that second PL shout for LAFC was garbage because I thought the forward stepped on the defender and he has a right to his space. But with the replay you can see the defender kick the players foot. So it should have been a PK. But we’ll call it even because that first PK was garbage. Vela had a clear path past the goalie but he kicked the goalie (stuver). That’s a foul by Vela for kicking the goalie. I know it’s not a popular opinion but there’s a difference between a goalie taking a player down in the box and a goalie on the ground and a forward kicking the goalie.
So we’ll call it even on that one for LAFC.

  10. Firstly the first ATX goal was correct, it seemed like the ball wasn’t on the line on the first angle, a second angle shows it is indeed above the line. Secondly, people saying that Vela got a free penalty, contact was made with the goalkeepers knee on Vela’s ankle, third the no pk call was very incorrect as Andrew stated, the defender hit Palacio’s planted leg which caused him to go down, that shouldn’t have tooken so long to look at in VAR if the call wasn’t going to change, it seemed like Villarreal was looking for an excuse to not call it. The officiating crew was mediocre not completely terrible but obviously did not have the best night

  11. I really can’t tell on the Palacios incident. That’s is the most awkward kick I’ve seen. I don’t know what to do on this incident so I’m more inclined to agree with the referee!

  12. Salloi should get a couple extra game suspension. There is no universe in which he is trying to do anything but harm the player there. Esteves earned the red, so did Fontas, but that's it. Esteves's shove couldn't have injured salloi, nor could Fontas have really injured Rubio or whoever it was. Salloi absolutely could have seriously injured the other guy. Salloi isn't usually that type of player, tensions were high, the game was already out of control, and he lost his head. 2-3 game suspension. It's a lot like the Dax McCarty one early in the season vs RSL, not usually a cheap player but lost his head and should get a game or two on top of the red card suspension.

  13. Bruh as an LAFC fan that corner kick for ATX that got them the goal… I could care less about the ball placement LMAO it was barely off the line let’s stop crying about it, fair game fair loss

  14. When will the MLS against this foul play? When will the teams fire these players?

The red carded players should be banned for a whole season. (I do not see this in Europe).
