  1. 03:35.

No that's not a red card. It's not even a foul. It sucks to be on the end of it, but he clearly gets the ball first and doesn't have two feet up.

    It's just an awkward contact.

  2. I much prefer this format of the show. Davies took the time to actually explain the rules of the game and how they applied.

Also, goalkeeper encroachment is such a bullshit rule. PKs are already a huge disadvantage for keepers, penalizing them for coming 3 inches off the line is trash.

    Good segment Davies.

  3. This is just as horrible as FAKE news………….the diving and faking, com'on!!! in the 80s, 90s, this type of boys didn't play, they need to take their feelings off the field and behave like men.

  4. Let's put these feminine boys to watch cyclists crash going 25-30 miles an hour, they get up, mount the bikes and finish the stage. Men cannot compare to fragile football players I guess.

  5. The Silva tackle at 6.10 is very similar to the red card given to Danielsson in the Sweden – Ukraine game in the Euro 2021. IMO the action of following through with a full swing here is reckless and dangerous. Definitely more of a red card than Danielsson's.

  6. I agree the 1st Cascante tackle was a red, the 2nd was a joke. The offensive player kicks the ball past him and flops so easily when Cascante 'pulls' back on him. Aside from the fact it was offside, it was a clear flop. The VAR protocols are a joke when it comes to 'clear and obvious' error in regards to diving. To have VAR say it's a dive, there has to be 0 contact. Dives can have contact, it's a joke that it has to be no contact for the ref to consider a dive.

  7. If there is a a stutter step that draws a goalie encroachment or is meant to give an advantage to the kicker then there shouldn’t be a stutter step. It’s always an obvious advantage for the kicker in a situation where they already have an advantage.

  8. So you're saying the first foul where he gets contact on the ball but scissors the player with both legs should be a red(2:39), but the player doing a slide tackle at 7:00 scissors a guys leg with a double leg tackle, doesn't win the ball but ends up hurt and the guy who's standing and wins the balls receives a yellow card? Those are contradictory outcomes for the same scenario.

  9. Why does the referee use a on-field Review for the penalty retakes? Thats a factical decision as the VAR protocol says and so it would be enough, if the VAR just communicates to the ref to let retake the pen. That would be so much faster. Same with the offside calls.

  10. Wow! Really good job chuck! Can you guys please let Charlie continue to do this segment solo? It was so much easier to watch and his voice is smooth. Apologies to the absent host but his voice grates my ears and I just enjoyed today segment so much more with Chuck being solo. I think it’s a little better to have a single informed point of view on these calls anyway. Much more coherent than usual. Didn’t leave me with so many questions like normal. And yes, Chuck taking time to go over the laws was so nice. Thanks!

  11. Look at the back line when the ball was actually touched….. the backers were in motion towards defending the goal box and Justin was CLEARLY in an onside position. How can you not see that!? They didn't review the offsides for that very reason. Can't win them all but thanks for your opinion. You can only understand what you think you know. Good luck! I have know idea why this popped up but it solidifies why I don't follow unknown wannabes. I'll continue to follow those who truly understand the game. No hard feelings!

  12. That "Leg on the line" rule is not fair to the goalkeepers, if you have to stand on the line then the kicker shouldnt be able to do a slow walk, jump or any other bs they do before kicking. It is only fair. I don't get why the kicker gets all the advantage

  13. If VAR is going to be that hard on goalkeepers, then they need to have a camera showing the 18 to see players entering the box before the kick. I am sick of seeing one sided reviews on adherence to the rules. Also, NYCFC should get red cards just for playing at their rival's pitch.

  14. The Silva clearance was clean in my opinion but players have gotten red cards for that in the past, most notably Balbuena and Vestergaard of the Premier League.

  15. If a player stutters steps i feel like it should be ok for a gk to get off his line. Im not even a nyrb fan but I feel bad for them

  16. These tackles where a player extends himself beyond control and gets his leg stomped, kicked, or twisted is as much the reckless endangerment of oneself as it is for opposition. Much like where the player was unlucky that his knee was caught in a follow through (which I disagree as unlucky since there was certainly no expectation of being able to launch a ball downfield in a clogged middle), when two players stretch for a ball and either one of them gets hurt its on themselves.

  17. Jesus, please do more than 3 or 4 games, and maybe include some parts where the ref is wrong. The reffing in the Portland vs Seattle game was horrible for both sides, but you refuse to show it.
