The Futbol Americas tandem of Herculez Gomez and Sebastian Salazar delve into Mexico’s 1-0 win over Honduras, but remain quite critical of Tata Martino’s side for their lack of cutting edge.

  1. El TRI lost their identity. New crest sucks, bring the green kit back (one of the most iconic kits in all of football, it means something), and the squad plays like a bunch of individuals

  2. I honestly feel bad for Mexican fans. This team is clearly old and not going anywhere, Tata is on his way out. Oh well, a lot can change by Qatar, and they have some good young players

  3. The problem with Mexico is we don’t have goals on us. I think we need a different front 3 or at least a variation. We need goals and so I would say, “chicharito and vela” would be the missing piece.

  4. I watched Mexico almost miss the World Cup in Brazil and then lose by a controversial penalty to the nedtherlands in the round of 16. They are the most Bipolar team on the planet. They can beat anyone and they can also lose to anyone. USA and Canada are giving there youth players plenty of opportunities to grow as players and it shows. Mexico would rather make money off of a potential star rather than help them get better.

  5. Agreed if Mexico cannot dominate lower level competition then what kind of a disaster will the WC be? Tata needs to go but the Mexican Federation has a lot of blame to shoulder as well.

  6. I will say this, having love Futbol today is not the same as have pace. Alot of players have love the game in Mexico. But because the game is getting faster, mexican are not known for pace. This is why England which I think is average does so well today. They have more pace than love. Mexico needs their players to be in Europe playing against the best.

  7. I don’t understand why this Mexican National team persists with Martino. His tactics are shocking and it’s clear he’s been on a downward spiral. Similar to Italy with picking the same players based on reputation rather than being in form.

  8. This might be good we’ll get destroyed in the World Cup there will be an uproar in Mexico and will force players like Ochoa and Herrera to retire and a new generation will show up like the US for 2026
